Spanish Rice

Cooking method: Stove
Makes: 3 cups or 6 1/2-cup servings


3 Tablespoons oil
1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
1/2 onion, chopped
3 cups water
1/2 can (5-ounce) tomato sauce
2 chicken bouillon cubes
Garlic powder (to taste)

In a skillet, brown rice and onion in heated oil. Add water, tomato sauce, chicken bouillon and garlic powder. Stir until mixed and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 15-20 minutes until water is absorbed.
